Yaowawit School is a public-private homestay school for children from underprivileged families, located in the rainforest of Phang Nga Province, 135km from Phuket.

Yaowawit provides over 140 children, aged 4-18 years, with a home and holistic (body, mind and spirit) education. Yaowawit’s education is based on the national Thai curriculum, broadened with the inclusion of pre-vocation education and a strong English programme. Integrated and life-skill learning is emphasized in addition to personal and social development throughout the school.

Trade For Education supports NGO’s and charitable public welfare organisations by selling registered fair trade merchandise through our network of loyal partners and direct online retail.

Part of the profit of every product you purchase on our website goes towards supporting children’s food, housing and education through registered charities.

PHUKET ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

Phuket Elephant Sanctuary

The First Ethical Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket

Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is a home for retired working elephants, set on 30 acres of lush tropical jungle. Observe how elephants rehabilitate into forest life after decades of abuse, and experience how incredible the largest land mammal on earth is during a day at this sanctuary.

BORN FREE TO RUN

Born Free to Run is a club that offers free training sessions for people within our local Phuket community who are interested in running. We focus on training children and teenagers, finding talented young people and helping them build up their performance and to be future running athletes. We encourage all to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, free from drugs, and promote a healthy competitive spirit amongst all who participate.

GREEN CAMPAIGN

Thanyapura Health & Sports Resort has joined the Plastic Free Phuket Initiative by taking its first steps to eliminate the consumption of single-use plastics on campus. Throwaway water bottles are no longer available at the hotel; instead, guests are provided with 2 reusable drinking bottles that can be refilled at one of the water stations situated around the resort. The new water bottles are supplied by a local company that has been working together with Thanyapura’s design team, led by Mr Nawat (Robyrd) Juthawit, to create the new product. The style and ethos of the bottles compliment the resort’s mission to ‘Optimise Your Life’, which includes encouraging a greener way of life for all.
