What can a focused cycling training programme do for you? Nick Gates, the director of our Cycling Academy and former Tour de France rider, says improvement is all about consistency. Check out his interview about How to Become a Better Biker.

Nick recently won the Queen’s Cup Toyota Hua Hin International Triathlon on August 16.  He said: “It was a really good race and I was very happy about how it went for me. The race has been running now for several years but this is my first time participating, and it was a successful first time.”

He has also been competing across the country in other cycling and triathlon events, and wants to involve more Thai athletes in the cycling program. “I have seen some great Thai talent and we look forward to try and make their dreams possible,” he said.

Nick competed with his son Amarni in the Open category at the 4-day Centenary Tour of Thailand. Amarni consistently placed in the top 6 on the tough stages. His biggest event of the year is the Australian Championships in September.

To prepare, Amarni is currently undergoing a strict gym, strength and conditioning program with our top gym instructors. He is also using our Computrainer room on a daily basis to monitor his progress exactly with his numbers.

Test yourself on two wheels at the Thanyapura Phuket Classic Cycling Race on November 14. Take your pick between the 40-kilometer all ages ride and the 90-kilometer endurance challenge. Thanyapura’s cycling race will be open to all – VIP’s and age groups. Get involved in this race and see some of Thailand’s prettiest spots on the way. Sign up here!
