Furthermore, the programme also offers an additional selection of a 5-7 day camp at the Yaowawit School in Phang Nga, a government-approved welfare boarding school for children from underprivileged families. Just one and a half hours drive away from Thanyapura, the school offers a Creativity Action Service (CAS) programme, which offers real life skills activities; such as farming, teaching the underprivileged children and visiting their families in their home villages.

Along with regular, health-conscious people, Thanyapura attracts some of the world’s premier athletes such as world champion swimmers and triathletes. Just last year tennis star Maria Sharapova and former Formula One world champion Jenson Button worked out there.

Last month, Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister, Kobkarn Suriyasat Wattanavrangkul, joined a long list of prominent people who have praised Thanyapura, saying it was “exactly in line” with the destination’s preferred marketing model.

Last year, the prestigious global tennis management institution Peter Burwash International named Thanyapura its Site of the Year, an award that recognises a PBI partner property that “strives to offer the highest quality in its tennis facilities, service and programmes while also demonstrating care and support for PBI and its professionals”. Thanyapura was also named Asia’s Best Tennis School 2014 in a survey by readers of TennisResortsOnline.com.

Thanyapura’s very own 3 Thanyapura-PIA athletes also swept medals from the Thai National Games in December 2014 and all three is qualified for SEA Games 2015.
