Top 5 bucket list running events in Asia

By Su

runDo you love running? Me too! I love going to running events, especially when they are situated in some of the most beautiful parts of the world. There is something magical about being part of an event where hundreds of people are trying to reach the same goal – the finish line. But you don’t need to run a marathon to experience this – although, if that is your goal then go for it! There are hundreds of fun runs or bucket list runs around the world that you can be a part of.

For me, I started running in Christchurch and did my first half marathon around the earthquake-ravaged city, which was incredibly humbling. I hadn’t trained a lot, but that wasn’t important to me. Again, it was about being part of a team all trying to achieve the same goal. A few years later I ran the London Marathon and it was the hardest but the best thing I have ever done. I didn’t complete it in a good time but I did complete it and that was the important thing. But the event, to me, wasn’t about trying to get through it as quickly as possible. It was about experiencing the atmosphere of the day. It was the crowds who got me through it and that is something that everyone should experience. So, I have compiled a list of the top five running events in Asia.
